Scouting Netherlands is a member of both WOSM (World Organization of the Scout Movement) as well as a member of WAGGGS (World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts).

Our Scouting structure is a little different then perhaps in your country. Instead of different units across an area or city units are merged in a group. From top/down our organization:

• National level, determines national policies, handles contacts with other organizations and coordinates between the regions (National HQ in Leusden);
• Regional level, Districts/Counties organizes most of the leader training sessions. (we are member of the Oude Graafland district);
• Local group level. (we are Cycloongroep Borculo);
• Units / Troops (Brownies,Cubs etc).

age levels

• beaver scouts, boys and girl between 5 and 7 years old;
• cub scouts, boys 7 and 11 years old;
• brownies, girls between 7 and 11 years old;
• esta's, boys and girls between 7 and 11 years old;
• boy scouts, boys between 11 and 14 years old;
• girl guides, girl between 11 and 14 years old;
• ventures, boys and girl between 14 and 17 years old;
• rangers, boys and girl between 17 and 23 years old

We also have mixed Boy Scout and Girl Guide units called Scouts. In the Scout age level there are also interest group units like Land Scouts (land activities), Air scouts (aviation), water scouts (water activities). Children with an special need can join any age level. If such an integration is not possible they can join a BE/BV-troop, in which more knowledge and skills are available in dealing with the Scouts' special needs.
